Global Classroom project provide opportunities for FCPS students to collaborate with peers from around the world on authentic tasks and challenges through a variety of learning opportunities. Students will also develop the knowledge, skills and behaviors to be able to engage in collective action towards issues on the local, national, and global level.  Students learn the attributes of Portrait of a Graduate, and utilize these skills as they work with peers from around the globe.

At Garfield the Global Classroom experience is used to learn more about a different country as well as their culture.  During Social Studies, Language Arts and Science classes, our 4th-6th grade students will focus on developing skills to become effective communicators and ethical and global citizens through the exchange of ideas and reflection. The goal is to use variety of tools to make global connections, increase cultural awareness, discover interests in real-world issues and take action to solve global challenges.
